The Story

Hello everyone. I would like to introduce to you Sumbuns diapers made by Summer House. I knew when I found out that our son was coming that I wanted to cloth diaper. I spent countless dollars on diapers that said they were the best. When he arrived I soon realized that all of our hard earned dollars had gone to waste. Being the women I am I was not willing to give up on cloth diapering my child. I went to the store and got to work. My first diaper was horrible to say the least. But I kept at it because I knew there had to be a way to make it work. After almost a year of making diaper after diaper I came up with these. I can not tell you how many times these have been taken back to the drawing board to bring you the perfect diaper.

So why did I decide to sell these?

When I first had my son I got to take him to work with me. Until his first birthday we packed our stroller with what he would need and went to work together. I have to say I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. But as things have a tendency to do, my job changed and I would no longer to be able to have my special little guy by my side. I tried daycare for one day and thought I was going to lose my mind. It wasn’t right for him and it wasn’t right for me. I came home and sat down with my husband and we decided that no one can raise our child like we do. A few friends started buying diapers after they saw how well they worked on my son and it gave me an idea, why not sell low cost, high quality diapers to other mom’s?

After two years of doing this on my own it became apparent that I needed some help. I brought on my great friend and wonderfully business talented Alma to come and run the show. She does what she does best, keeping things in order and working with customers , shipping items, and making the numbers work; while I sew and train other mom’s to be able to work from home as well. We have found that this gives people the best of both worlds and makes things as they should be, great customer service and a stand alone product. It also frees me up to invent new things for all of our wonderful customers.

We would like to state that Sumbuns will always be a work at home persons product. Our long term goal is to help parents and provide them with all of the tools they need to be able to work from home and be with their children as they grow up with out them having to have any money what so ever to start off. We want each and every item we sell to be 100% hand made from the cutting process to packing it into the box and mailing it off to the customer. We are always looking for more parents to train and are always in need of help. We hope to one day be busy enough to not have to ever turn away a parent that wants a way to be able to raise their child beside them while they work.

Forms of payment

All prices are in US dollars. We accept funded and credit cards through PayPal, USPS money orders, personal checks, and cash. Cash payments must be insured or shipped with delivery confirmation.

Ordering

Payment is due immediately for items in-stock, pre-made items. Failure to pay may result in the removal of the privilege to purchase from us in the future. Please contact the vendor immediately if you are unable to pay.

Shipping will include Delivery Confirmation through the United States Postal Service. Delivery Confirmation is not a tracking or routing number, but confirmation that the parcel has arrived at its addressed destination. Delivery Confirmation is not shipping insurance. Insurance is available for purchase by the buyer on every item.
We are not held responsible for items once they have left our hands. In the event an item does not arrive at its destination, we will provide proof of shipping to confirm that the item was shipped. Any shipping insurance claims must be filed through the shipping agency by the buyer; Sumbuns is not responsible for handling insurance claims.

International Orders

Sumbuns will ship items internationally via USPS Global Priority Mail or through another traceable method. International buyers must purchase insurance for the full value of the item purchased. This policy is to protect both the vendor and the buyer; no exceptions will be made.

Product Defects

Please check your items carefully when they arrive. Any defects to items that did not occur during the shipping process must be noted immediately and Sumbuns must by contacted via email (Sumbuns@gmail.com) within 72 hours of arrival. The 72 hours will begin at the moment Delivery Confirmation or other tracking number states the item arrived at the destination.

If the buyer believes the item to be defective or that the incorrect item has been shipped, the buyer has five (5) business days to ship the defective item back to the vendor for exchange. If the item is found to be defective, it can be exchanged for an in-stock item of equal value within five (5) business days of the vendor receiving the defective item. If the item is not mailed within ten (10) business days of receiving a return number, the return will be null and void.

The buyer will be refunded the return First Class shipping amount plus the cost of Delivery Confirmation in the form of a Sumbuns store credit. No item will be accepted without prior return authorization. Should the item be found not to be defective and to be free of flaws, the buyer will be required to cover the cost of returning the item by First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation.

Returns

We do not accept returns without prior return authorization. All returns must be accompanied with a returned merchandise authorization number that you will be provided by Sumbuns at the time of contact. Each returned item must include an attached slip that includes the returned merchandise authorization number, your name, mailing address, and email address, the reason for the return, and the number of returned items in the return shipment. Items returned without prior authorization number or the proper documents will be returned to the buyer at the buyer’s expense.

In the event that a shipping refund is warranted, the refund credit will be no more than the cost of First Class shipping with Delivery Confirmation. This applies to all returns, exchanges, and repairs.

Items that are not defective and are in unwashed, unused, perfect condition may be exchanged with prior approval. The items may be returned for store credit to be used no later than six (6) months from the credit issue date. The buyer will be responsible for the cost of the shipping of the item back to the vendor, as well as the shipping for the new item received.

If the buyer is unhappy with an item after it has been used, the buyer may still return it with in one (1) week of receipt. The item must be in excellent condition free of stains, fading, or any other signs of overuse or improper use. The buyer will receive a refund of 75% of the purchase price (minus the shipping charge) as a Sumbuns store credit to be used no later than six (6) months of the credit being issued. The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to the vender and for the cost of shipping the new items to the buyer. By returning the item, the buyer agrees to give the vendor permission to resell the item as a second/used item or donate it to a charitable program.

Warranty

All Sumbuns products come with a 90 limited warranty. (Does not apply to items sold as second quality goods).

Elastic

If the elastic goes out with in 90 days of receiving the diaper, the buyer can return the item and the elastic will be replaced for free within fourteen (14) business days of the vendor’s receipt of the item. After 90 days, there will be a $6.50 charge for the replacement of the elastic. The buyer is responsible for shipping the item to the vendor for repair and the vendor will cover shipping back to the buyer once the item is fixed. After the warranty has expired, the buyer is responsible for shipping to and from the vendor for repair.

Snaps

The snaps on the diapers are under warranty for one (1) year. If a snap breaks it will be replaced at no cost to the buyer within ten (10) working days of the vendor’s receipt of the item. This policy applies only to the first owner of the item.

Other Product Defects
Any other problems that are deemed manufacturer defects will be dealt with on a case by case basis at the discretion of the manufacturer and are completely at the discretion of the vendor. All items will be vigorously inspecting and have a 90 day guarantee.

The vendor has the expressed right the change any of these policies as deemed necessary and without any prior notice.

Shipping

Instock items will be shipping within three(3) business days of receipt of payment. In order to cancel a paid order, the vendor must receive an email from the buyer within 24 hours of payment. No paid orders will be canceled after 24 hours. Any unpaid orders will be considered incompletel and cannot be held. Sumbuns cannot be responsible for items from unpaid orders being sold before payment is received in full.

Orders paid with PayPal or Echeck will be held for 24 hours after the payment is noted as cleared. Paper checks from the buyer’s bank will be deposited and the items held for five (5) days while the check clears. The order will be processed and shipped after the check has cleared. Credit cart orders will considered paid, will be processed immediately, and will be shipped within three (3) business days. Orders paid in cash will be considered paid upon receipt of cash, processed immediately, and shipped within three (3) business days.

Items not shipped within three (3) business days (excluding weekends and holidays) will receive a free upgrade to Priority shipping with Delivery Confirmation. Items not shipped within five (5) business days will be shipped for free via Priority mail with Delivery Confirmation and the amount previously paid for shipping refunded as a store credit for a future Sumbuns purchase, to be used no later that six (6) months of the credit being issued. Items not shipped within ten (10) business days will be shipped for free via Priority mail and 15% of the purchase amount will returned to the buyer in the form of a Sumbuns credit for a future purchase.

These rules only apply to in-stock items that have been paid in full. It does not apply to customer order changes or to any custom items.

Delivery Confirmation is used to protect the vendor and the buyer. In the case that an item is not received, but the Delivery Confirmation confirms the item was delivered, we are not responsible for the lost item and the buyer must contact the shipping agency for further investigation in retrieval of the item. Insurance is made available on every item sold for this reason, but is not required. In the case that the item is shipped and Delivery Confirmation shows an acceptance scan, but not delivery, it is up to the buyer to follow up with the shipping agent. If an item is sent out and there is not an update on the delivery confirmation a trace will be placed by the vendor, and if the items is unable to be located as shipped the buyer will be granted a credit to be used towards a future Sumbuns in-stock item, to be used no later than six (6) months past the date of the credit. This will only be granted when there is no proof that the item has left our shipping facility here at Sumbuns.

Second Quality Items

Second Quality Items will be marked as seconds. They are sold a- is and do not come with a warranty.

Washing Detergent Recommendations
And Care Instructions

Washing is a big deal in the diaper world. We personally recommend the following detergents:

Allen’s Naturally Country Save Planet, Mountain Green, Purex Free and Clear, Publex Free and Clear OXY-Prime, Sam’s Glacier, Sun Free and Clear, Trader Joe's Cleanliness is next to Godliness, Wind Fresh (Sam's Glacier), Wisk Free Clear, Astra, and Arm & Hammer for sensitive Skin

The way we wash our diapers.
Here are our personal favorite washing detergents for diapers: Allen’s Planet, Purex Free and Clear, and Dawn.

Summer’s personal diaper washing routine.

We start with a plain cold rinse. When it is finished, we add half the amount of any of the recommended detergents, a cup of vinegar, a cup of borax, and 6 drops of Dawn dish washing detergent. We wash them on the longest cycle at the highest temp and then rinse on cold. They are then thrown into the dryer.

All Sumbuns diaper (excluding wool) can be dried in the dryer on low heat. NEVER STRECH A DIAPER WHILE IT IS HOT OUT OF THE DRYER. Allow the diaper to cool at room temperature for at least an hour before using on a child or even stuffing the pocket of a pocket diaper. This can ruin your diaper elastic as well as the water proof barrier.
